Sample Letter to a Donor

Dear Donor,

We have the opportunity for donations to have an even bigger impact through the #HalfMyDAF movement. Since 2020, the #HalfMyDAF community has awarded over $97million in grants.

More than $326 billion sits in Donor Advised Funds across the country. The goal of #HalfMyDAF is to inspire donors to put their money to work by randomly giving away unrestricted matching grants. If you are a DAF holder and commit to spending down half of the funding that was in your DAF on January 1st by October 8, 2026, all the grants you make to us and other nonprofits will be eligible for a match from #HalfMyDAF.

#HalfMyDAF will make dollar-for-dollar matches of up to $5,000 in June 2026 and again in October 2026, out of a pool of $2M in unrestricted funding—and four lucky nonprofits will get matches up to $25K.

The more donors who commit to spending down at least half of their DAF and give to us, the more likely we are to receive a match.
